Planting for Students

Julie Tobin 5/1/12 Science Kindergarten 35 proceedings RATIONALE AND BACKGROUND: The inclination of this lesson is to understand the characteristics of leaves. Students volition let on their leaves using descriptive words. Students argon familiar with writing. Students are non familiar with the characteristics of leaves. LESSON OBJECTIVES: The students get outing encounter a pitch, and compare and contrast the leaves of the class. Students allow describe their leaves. (PA precedent: 1.4.K.A: 1.5.K.D: Write using illustrations and descriptive words. Informal, psychomotor, individual). IV. LIST OF MATERIALS/RESOURCES: 1. Pencils 2. Crayons 3. Leaves 4. White cover 5. Leaves handout 6. Leaves prevail by Vijaya V.PROCEDURES: 1.To begin, students testament listen to the book Leaves. Students will round the data from the book. Lesson Body The lesson body will include: 2.Next, students w ill go out nerve and pick leaves off of the trees on the enlighten grounds. Students will collect a leaf and then force up. 3. Next, students will describe their leaves and we will graph the number of uniform leaves that we guide in the class. 4. After that, each student will be give a small piece of tweed paper. Students will do a leaf guide- placing their leaves bumpy vein side up; students will place the white paper on top of the leaf. Next, students will use a draw and contort on top of the leaf, to create a leaf rubbing! 5. Once students have completed that, they will be given a leaves handout. Students will complete their handout, and then pull it in their mailbox. Lesson Closure After finishing, students will observe their capital of Peru beans and interpret for any new growth.
