I looked around me, nothing but laughter, nothing but happiness. My eyes scanned over the table, at the people that meant the most to me. My birthday had been the best yet, nothing better than being around your friends on your special days I seem to recall my mother saying. I had received many presents, been hugged by many people, enjoyed the attention, yet there was something; something missing,. As I closed my eyes I tried to grasp what this feeling was. That day was not the only day I had been feeling this, but since everyday I could remember; however, this particular day it was more prevalent than ever before. I was interrupted by my best friend, Thank you so much for bringing us to this†¦show more content†¦I knew that I had the best friends that one could wish for, but that day just felt extra special and continued thereafter. I looked at Alexis who was now sitting opposite me. He smiled at me, I felt reassured and my mind cast back to the time when he told me he liked me. He had knelt on one knee and offered me a rose, You know I will always be there for you, no matter what we go through, I adore you and I feel closer to you than just a friend. Having someone like that for you, made me feel special and that life was worth living. Amy a voice called to me from across the table, Do you remember when we went ice skating last year? I nodded, and smiled at Tim. He started to recall the story; however throughout the account I could not stop looking at Alexis who was now enjoying the story. It was at this particular moment in time that I felt the strangest. My eyes were fixated on Alexis, and everything just seemed as if things were meant to be and for the first time I forgot about that empty feeling. The setting seemed ideal, everything was faultless, the way he sat, and how he looked intently.
